Please note, the deadline to register for the sleepover has passed and no additional releases will be accepted at this time.
School Meeting has approved a school sleepover from 4:30PM on Friday, April 7th to 8:30 AM on Saturday, 8th. We are so excited about this fun event! Here is what you need to know so we can all have the best sleepover possible:
Who can attend?
This event is open to current Alpine Valley School students only.
Which adults will be present?
Staff Members Addison Ault, Marc Gallivan, and Katy Cure will be chaperoning the event.
What should I know about picking up my student(s)?
Students are welcome to attend for the evening and be picked up rather than staying the night. All students who do not wish to spend the night must be picked up by 10:00 PM on Friday, April 7th.
Students attending just for the evening do require a signed release from all legal guardians.
Students under the age of seven are strongly encouraged to be picked up by 10:00 PM as they are often uncomfortable staying the entire night.
Students that are staying the entire night must be picked up no later than 8:30 AM on Saturday.
Students sometimes want to come home in the evening or may be sent home by a staff member if they are disruptive. Please be prepared to come and get your student if needed.
What do I need to do in order to attend?
All students who wish to attend must have a completed release signed and returned by close of school on Friday, March 31st (a week before the event).
Even students who want to attend just for the evening require a signed permission slip returned.
If a student does not have a completed release, or it is not signed by their parents / legal guardians, they cannot attend the sleepover, even for the evening, and must leave school by 4:30 PM on the day of the event.
What should we do about dinner /breakfast?
Students will be responsible for their own meals during the sleepover, so they should bring dinner for Friday, and breakfast for Saturday, along with any other snacks they may want.
The fridges and microwaves will be available during the sleepover.
If students want to have dinner delivered (such as pizza) they may do that. Please make sure the student has money to pay for the delivery as needed. Staff Members should be made aware of any expected deliveries.
What are the rules?
The School Meeting Lawbook is still in effect during the sleepover. Cases can be written up as usual and sent to Judicial Committee (though they will not be heard until Monday).
Staff Members supervising the event have the right to send disruptive students home at any point during the sleepover
Parents: Please do not make any plans that you cannot cancel at a moment’s notice, should your student need a ride home.
Everyone must remain inside the building after 10:00PM.
Students who do not wish to spend the night must be picked up by 10:00 PM.
What do parents need to know?
Students may bring pillows, blankets, sleeping bags, stuffed animals, pajamas, and so forth to school as desired on the day of the sleepover.
All parents / legal guardians must complete and sign a release for each student in order for them to attend the sleepover. The completed release must be handed in before close of school March 31st.
Please be available throughout the evening in the event that a student wants to come home, or is sent home by a staff member.
If you need to get in touch with a staff member or student during the event, call line 2 - 303-279-3690.
All students MUST be picked up by 8:30 AM on Saturday. If you think you may be late or unavailable, please make alternate arrangements to pick up your student(s).
