Graduation from Alpine Valley School
The graduation process at Alpine Valley School is a self-directed and meaningful journey that reflects the school's values in action. It begins with the student's Declaration of Intent to Graduate, submitted to the Diploma Committee, followed by a series of meetings, planning, and personal reflection. The Diploma Committee plays a supportive role, offering the student resources while allowing them to take the lead. The process culminates in a public ceremony where we hand out diplomas to our graduating students. The process overall represents an opportunity for the student to reflect on their time at AVS, leave a mark on the community, and prepare for the next step in their lives.
In order to receive a diploma from Alpine Valley School, students must:
Be at least 17 years old by the time they would graduate
Have attended AVS continuously for at least three years
Maintain a record of consistent attendance during their enrollment
